things that need doing

  • room cleaning
  • clothes washing
  • vodafone calling
  • hair washing
then off to work tonight :)

I was actually supposed to work last night, but the managers had written it in their book but forgot to write it on the notice board...so technically not my fault? And not my fault if they call at 6:15pm and ask me to come in and I say I cant...right? The manager said it wasn't my fault but sounded...disappointed when I said I couldnt come in...but still not my fault?

Star for Loners

I is officially starting Loner Star tonight.
I have to wear horrible blue jeans...non skinny, non hippy! I hate blue jeans; especially the blue that's just blue, not washed out and not dark, just blue. But they are comfy! And shirts (polo) have to be tucked in! I havent done that since primary school!

Enough complaining, it's a good opportunity and I should stop whinging. But what's a blog for if not for whining? hehe

Still have horrible neck pains...which seem to disappear when I'M AT WORK. meh

My blog layout needs changing...

uni - week 2

after having experienced all my classes, I can honestly say I don't hate any of them. In fact, to go a step further, I actually like ALL of them (with the exception of the Genetics lecture, which I dont go to).
Neuroscience is awesome; the lecturer, who is also my tutor, is the same guy I had for Behaviour & Environment last semester. His voice is a bit droney but he knows it and he makes really bad jokes that are so bad they are actually funny.
Personality Motivation & Emotion; all I have to say is that thank god I dont have JULIAN! Christina is in my class so at least I have one friend. The tutor is kinda quirky and nice and it's fun to watch him get all enthused when a students starts talking and actually knows what they are talking about.
Introduction to Logical Thinking; a class that they should definitely put in the Psych Arts program if they are also making History Philosophy of Psych a core unit. Just basic understandings of logical argument and critical thinking and analysis and all that wonderful stuff and lots of wonderful jargon. The tutor is really nice, plus I like having the lecturer as the tutor, they seem more together. I like the way the class is structered - so it's not just as if she is talking AT us.
Lastly, my favourite class, Genetics and Bioscience for Psychology; V. interesting. Concepts that are hard to get my mind around at times, but not completely head spinning like philosophy. And that awesome feeling that I get when I finally understand it! Plus the tutor, extremely funny. One of the guys on our little group table had gone out of the room, and the tutor came and sat in his chair to see if we were all understanding everything; then he wrote "I <3 my tutor" in the guys book. Really insane funny, soughta James Av kinda tutor...actually his name is James. And is really good at explaining things. I really like the structure of this class. Rather than being talked at for hours or just making us go around and say our homework answers, it's engaging. Reminds me of highschool.
I've found from experience that the younger tutors have developed their own way of remembering things, and it's good that they can teach it to us that way because it makes so much more sense.

I'm off now for an interview at Lone Star...

I didnt get time to publish this before I went. So I had the interview, and I have an orientation next Friday. I dont even know if I want this job. We'll see how it goes.

Going out for dinner and a movie later tonight. I believe we are watching The Ugly Truth. A nice chick flick that will have Sarah and I bitching about how much we hate men! Good Times!!

A burst of inspiration (from miss PV)

I'M GOING TO BAKE SOMETHING!!!
Well...not right now, maybe tomorrow...no no...Thursday morning! Yes, Thursday morning. It will be grander than that weirdo strawberry pastry dealy. Grander than my cookies, brownies and cheat cupcake!

LEMON MERINGUE PIE!!! I wish I had one of those torchy things to brown the meringue.
Hmm...to make the crust from scratch or not to make the crust from scratch...we'll see.

Also, I've been looking for a recipe for choc caramel tart, and every recipe I find has the caramel being made out of melted "kraft cooking caramels". I need to find one where the caramel is made from scratchness.

Good Day
