Uni Week 3

Finally, this morning (in week three), I had my first successful public transport trip to Uni. What involves a successful uni trip:

1. Having to wait less than ten minutes for the next train or bus between stops
2. Having more than five minutes to get from one platform to another or from the train station to the bus stop
3. Getting to uni no more than 15 minutes before class starts
4. Getting to uni no less than five minutes before class
5. Trains being on time

I would usually catch a train to Lidcombe to change to the Bankstwon trains, however, today I caught an express train to Strathfield and then changed trains. I must say that Strathfield station is a nicer than Lidcombe. I especially like the little shops in the station that I came across when going from one platform to another. I have enough time to quickly grab a drink or some chewy before catching the next train. Of course, I don't think that I will be so lucky with trains as my classes start at different times on different days and there are usually more trains early in the morning.

So, I am sitting in my first tutorial for the day, falling asleep and feeling under-stimulated. The content is fair, however the teaching style is ... slow? I have to take into consideration that this is a first year subject.

I'm thinking that maybe it wasn't a good idea to change my course, that maybe I should have just tried to apply for the diploma in fourth year. This way, I am having to add a year to my course. However, diploma of psych is very competitive.

I shouldn't be blogging while in class, but the tutor is going through and explaining to us, the same thing that was set in the reading for this week.

Random Thoughts Today:

• I really hate smokers, especially those who smoke around a crowd of people. Eg - girl this morning smoking while standing in the line while everyone was getting on. How hard is it to just finish your cancer stick and then join the line
• Uni makes me crave coffee but the coffee they have there, especially the mocha's are dirty gross
